"Change" is a track from Lisa Stansfield's album Real Love released as the lead single in October 1991; a #10 hit in the UK,"Change" also afforded Stansfield an international hit by charting in Australia (#21) and several European countries notably the Netherlands (#7) and Italy where its #2 peak made "Change" Stansfield's career record for that territory. In the US "Change" reached #27 on the Hot 100 in Billboard falling short of the peaks of Stansfield's three US hit singles from her solo debut album Affection particularly that album's US lead single "All Around the World" (#3). "Change" was more popular on the R&B chart in Billboard reaching #12 and reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. In the US, the radio promo was frequently "flipped", with the Frankie Knuckles remix receiving airplay in key radio markets.
